Energy Performance Certificates

• From 1st October 2008, Landlords renting out a property will need to provide a Energy Performance Certificate to any prospective tenant. 
  
  
• You do not need to obtain an Energy Performance Certificate for an existing tenancy only when the tenancy agreement is renewed.
  
  
• Once you have instructed and obtained your Energy Performance Certificate this will remain valid for up to 10 years (under current legislation).

• When changing tenants if a valid Energy Performance Certificate still exists then no new certificate is required.
